You know they can now medicate you for that addiction Russell ;)
Hornbys are nice but I do have a soft spot for Blackstones.

Know it's not included in the poll, but I would have to go with Ruston & Hornsby. There is just such an endless variety of them! The Ruston Bucyrus cable excavators used them exclusively, and every model and variant had a different R&H engine in it. Power stations and industries had a huge variety, from horizontals large and small, to verticals in every size and configuration.
Who else built a seven cylinder inline vertical?
Still have my R&H 3VQBN and its 6PS air starter from a 1930's cable shovel, and I caretake a 3VROHN in a small RB dragline. Who knows what will turn up next?   Combustor.

There you go Combuster. I have modified the poll (once I worked it out) to include Ruston-Hornsby.

Hi Anton. I was trying to not end up with too long a list of there would just be 50 manufacturers with one vote each. I will add Gardner as it was fairly big in its day.

National. They provided bread and butter for me and my family for quite a few years.

Hi Joe,
they were big in their day but they are not too often seen at rallies. You should bring one of yours out to boost the numbers ;)

I like all of them but Petter should be on the list as well.
I have a Petter Handyman which is cool, also have 1912 Hornsby petrol, old petrol Lister, 1909 National etc, they are all great in there own way!
Cheers John.
