Location, Location!!
« on: 11 January, 2012, 07:02:36 PM »
Hello all,
Just giving this topic a bump along, following the Moderator's suggestion in the Vintage Trucks & Commercials columns.
It is frequently helpful to know the approximate location of members when trading information, services or spares. No need to breach privacy, but by going to your profile you can add or edit a signature line to include a state, region or town, and perhaps some of your main interests. To those who have already done so, thank you very much. In my remote area it is interesting to know where and what your interests are.  All information welcome.
Do the moderators think it would warrant a sticky thread at the head of, say, the "New Members" columns?  Regards,  Combustor.

Hi Combuster
Yes, to have some idea where you live could make it easier for someone to help you when chasing parts of info
One other thing is, who is ‘Combuster’ and yes I know a lot of people do it and some other forums are bad for it

Look at that. I got my location on the little dodad on the side.
My other passion is there too. Fishing.

Cheers then
Scott :)

well there you go Scott.  Now you've added your location (Warwick), I can tell you that I've just moved to Warwick myself from St George.  Will make an effort to catch up at sometime.

Cheers, Shayne.
Collector and fan of ye olde crappe. I collect old number plates.  Have you got any?  Send me a PM if you do.  :-)  I might even trade them for other old junk.

Hello rustyengines,
To answer the question "Who is Combustor?", Just an old codger recently retired, but still surrounded by a collection of odds and ends that piled up around me during a lifetime of earthmoving, (draglines, excavators etc.) maintaining the Ord River Irrigation Scheme. Trying to put a few odd engines and a couple of tractors into some semblance of order, before my time is up. Have run a few engines at our local Ag. Show on occasions, but any other displays are half a continent away. By the way, friends call me Murray.  Regards,  Combustor.
