Ideas on this fuel valve???
« on: 30 January, 2012, 10:14:26 AM »
I want to replicate this valve . It is needed for a hot tube engine .There appears to be a needle valve to regulate the fuel flow . There also appears to be air inlets around the top ,ie the small holes. Can anyone say what the larger hole at the base maybe ,would it be for a sight glass? Would there be a one way system ,ie same as Crossly and Tangye , a small hole in a valve seat that is spring loaded ............any ideas greatfuly accepted !

I know nothing about these engines but your theory of it being a sight glass works for me and that the small holes are just breather holes for the oil to run through.

Thanks CobaDog........I was begining to give up hope . There must be a poppet valve in there . There is a screw down needle valve to regulate the fuel . I think the small holes at the top are for intake air that mixes with the fuel . I just wonder why there would be a sight glass .
I am going to try a couple of the other engine forums .
