Eric Schulz ........can you help - Barger Plows
« on: 06 February, 2012, 08:07:08 PM »
Eric ,I know you have a wealth of literature and have helped those of us in distress .
Do you please have anything on Barger Plows ? I have a plow ,I beieve it is a Barger . It has two parralel rows of discs ,five on each side . The angle can be changed by way of a lever and connecting rods . Apart from replacing most of the bolts ,the rest of the impliment is there . I am hoping you may have some pictures so that I can figure out how the connecting rods work ...........I will send an image of my plow tomorrow . Googling has brought up some images but they are not the same as my plow ,similier but as I say not the same .

Peter, when I saw my name as a topic, I was a bit scared. Were readers to judge my good and bad points like an engine? Could be embarrassing!

Back to reality, my Barger file is about the same as yours. Apart from the photos you probably found in Picture Australia or Museum Victoria, have you seen Vintage Spanners and wrenches at http://www.ozwrenches.com/barger.htm
Apart from that I have no other helpful photos. You may find illustrated ads in a Trove search.

Eric ,because I dont know one end of a plow from the other ,I enlisted the aid of a farmer friend ..........it's ten disc Sunshine cultivator . We have it  all sorted out now but I will need something more than a Howard 2000 to use it.
