Mine would have to be my 4hp Sundial, because it starts well and ticks over nicely all day

My best rally engine would be the 1hp R&V. Easy to move, starts easily and runs like a clock all day. I still cannot bring myself to paint it as it runs too well to pull it apart.

Our favourite engine to take to rallies is our Buzzacot because it is all we have !!! Well we have two a Farm Pumper and an open crank horizontal twin flywheel 2hp but we just can't choose one over the other as they are both loved and there is no favourtism. After that it is then how many of our old Victas that we can fit in.

  Hello All
My favourite rally engine is my Frisco Standard it always attracts questions from the public and our own boys, being an unusal construction many hours have been spent in helping the public to understand this engine. It only has one drawback it is heavy move but is worth every effort.

mine would have to be my dads 7.5hp ap ruston hornsby. it runs a 32v southern cross dc generator. because it starts first pop and doesn't miss a beat even when under full load

and im the same as triumphline its in a need of a good strip down and paint but it runs to good to pull apart

hahaha that bloody engine why cant it earn its keep like all the other engines. like its got comp, fuel and a good spark and it still starts only when it feels like it. its gotta be the right time of day, the right flywheel side to start it on and whether there is a crowd around the engine.

My favourite engine is the one I take to a rally that doesn't cause me any problems.
Most likely its the same one that will give me a headache at its next outing.

I think the best rally engine is one that starts first time every time or other wise you look like a bit of a goose. I recently tried to start an engine that ran like a clock and this time it decided to play up. It shaw made a crowd a young'n trying to get the ronnie to run!

I think it will be the 5 HP Sunshine Two Stroke . A few good reasons being that I have spent a lot of time getting it to run as I think it should .
Then I suppose it will be the next project ,whatever that may be.

Hi Engine Head, if "your Dad's Austral" has a mind of it's own, then it is not set up correctly. Austral's are "Great today, Greater tomorrow" but only when set up as they were designed to be.
Cheers,
 John
