Hello
« on: 27 April, 2016, 05:10:50 pm »
Hi,

I'm living up in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, off grid , on 100 acres and I recently acquired an old Lister LD1 start-o-matic 1.5Kva.
I intend to use it as a backup/ supplement for my solar and wind power systems.
As with all things of this nature it has been sitting for a number of years and no doubt will need some TLC. I'm attempting to get the engine running first to assess the amount of work/parts needed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Peter

Probably have circuits for the older startomatics and remote box if you need them.

Hi Oldgoat,

Yes please, I have been able to locate a manual for the engine but the generator wiring has eluded me so far.
I haven't got the engine running yet, I suspect years of neglect and sitting has taken it's toll, so I'll be stripping the top end and de-coking I guess.
As you can guess the wiring is in bad shape and I intend to update components if possible without affecting the aesthitics.
I'll try to put up some pics.

Thanks
Peter

P.s.

Lots of young goats around here, a mob of 50 odd passed through the other day.

Nah, too busy with mechanical things, never been a fisherman.
I believe there's good size Murray cod to be had around here.
