Hello all
Believe it or not, there's a good chance of buying one of those screwed bronze lift check valves new from Johns valves (which I think is the brand of the valve Ian has posted)
It's called a bronze T4M check valve from Johns Valves on (03) 5336 2113
In this link is a schematic of them.

Failing that, there's probably one in the shed somewhere.
Cheers Scott
PS: nothing missing on your valve Emu. It has to be placed in the horizontal axis though.

Yep, just put the bit at the bottom the other way up. The taper goes into the housing and the stem goes in the screw on cap.

Hello Ian.
How did your mate get on? I found a couple of different types in the shed. Main differences are thickness of metal and hieght of the hex on the valve plug. All spare if they suit.

Hi Scott
I will give him a ring and ask if he has found one. Thanks for that.

Scott , the link provided showing the PDF of the Lift Valve doesn't seem to be bi-directional .according to my interpretation of the schematic diagram .

It's not supposed to be bi-directional. It's a non return valve. ;)
