Post by: AUSDOK on 05 November, 2020, 06:18:05 pm

Is it a Pulford - made unit, or Pulford assembled? Could be the ubiquitous Fu-Sheng. A picture of any symbol in the actual casting would help identify it.

Hi Jarod Thanks for your reply ,speaking with Pulford they said it is one of theirs ,but as it over 50 years they no longer support it. they did offer a new head for $900 but where unable to provide a gasket set to suit. One of our members has sorted most of the leaks and issues and we think the best option is to put a in tank non return valve in the outlet pipe from the compressor , this will stop any leaks from the valves. We spoke to another compressor company and they where unsure whether it is a viable option at all. Everything else on the compressor is fine . the main issue is a fairly big  leak back through the air intake.  We don't want to scrap the unit if possible. Regards Rudy

That sounds like what modern compressors have anyway, so they can be started with a smaller motor. Can't see why it wouldn't work.

Hi, hope you dont mind me going off topic a bit, I have a pulford 59, 284, G 06. It has melted a piston and I am trying to find a replacement , I haven't contacted Pulfurd direct as yet just trying to get some background information.
Thanks in advance
Sean

Welcome sssparks, if possible a picture may also help those who might have a piston. Remember to compress the image before trying to load it onto the forum.
