Another picture showing a better view of the trip. This is on a 2hp Buzacott but the trip is the same.

Here is a 6hp Champion (Buzacott/Rosebery) with a Wico EK. The advance/retard is up for starting and down for running.

The retard piece is out of the spring for starting, in the spring (advanced) for running.

Yes, pictures would be helpful.

General Discussion / Buzacott 6hp K type engine

Just wanting to know what is missing from my Buzacott, magneto trip mechanism. This has a Wico box magneto, and there is a small hole, that I think supports a spring, that holds the square piece of steel, that actually strikes the magneto trip! Not really sure, and I will get some pics, here tomorrow. I do not have a manual, and can not find anything on the net. Also want to know what the arrangement of the retard is? There is a small half mil thick, piece, like a feeler gauge, that is pivoted, on a screw, that is lifted up, so the square rod strikes a bit later. Really looking for parts , or owners manual.  Thanks for any response at all, regards. Phil.

Engine Pictures S - U / Re: Southern Cross ā€˜Pā€™ small type

As the headline said this is an old topic, and may not now be seen! Anyway we will see! My SX PA , has one flywheel only, as it drove a vacuumed pump the has long gone. I am looking for someone who may have a Wilco magneto bracket that suits these engines? I will return yours, when I have fabricated one for myself. It is a bit tricky, as there is an advance, and retard set up on it.  My engine number is 1126, which puts it around 1930, I think.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!  Cheers Phil 0418 658 597.

General Discussion / Southern Cross P hopper cooled

I have had this engine for quite some time, and as time has rolled by, I know a lot of parts have been lost! I have looked at SX manuals, of P engines, and none seem to fit! I am led to believe this had a vacuume pump close coupled , and from what I think is a 1930 engine. 1126, is the number. I want to find someone who will, first sell me a complete mount for the Wilco magneto, or lend me one that I can copy, or send me drawings to do a copy! I am also looking for drawings, pics, or parts diagrams of the carb, and float set up!  I know there would not be a pump that had been discarded from one of these engines, so it will have to remain as a nude engine!  Thanks for anyone who replies, and kind regards Phil 0418 658 597 PS is there anywhere I can find what serial number the Wico was on this engine?

My first post here in a long time, but later on that. I recently acquired a the above, just in the process of getting some front Gaurds sorted our. Have had a bit of gear sent over from Gary in Illinois such as speedo cables, grease nipples etc. The old girl has been mostly restored so not a lot left to do. She did most of her life as general cartage on Kangaroo Island, so have lots of provenance on her.  Should have her back on the road later next year. She will be handy for when I have to restock with horse feed, should be fine with he large round bales ! Might have to keep the foot jammed on the gearstick when coming down the old Willunga Hill so she does not jump out of gear and bolt !! I only have some later model headlghts at this stage for her, will use those until I get a model correct set. She will stay in the rough like my 1924 Chev buck board that I now have running.
