Stationary Engines / Re: Champion d16 spark plugs

As in my reply on the other thread I have avoided Champion for many years and prefer NGK. Take your D16 to Repco and they will cross reference it to some options. Autolite plugs have been good in my engines and of course the NGK and I have an old KLG that has been reliable as well. I just dont like Champion.
At the end of the day they all can fail I guess but I've heard of a lot of Champions be no good out of the box or with a few hours on them.

So glad you have it running now Rudy. Bloody spark plugs can ruin your day. Where possible I avoid Champion for that reason and mainly run NGK or KLG, even an Autolite is in one of the engines.
At the end of the day any of them can fail, just another lesson learnt at the time.

Have it up and running. Tried many starts with a new d16 Champion spark plug with no pop. Took it out and replaced with a very old klg plug and it fired first go. This is not the first time that this has happened to me.  Has anybody had a issue with the d16 plugs. Rudy

If any body has a lister junior A this one is hopper cooled could you please check  the orientation of the slot on the cam gear when the engine is on tdc this is about 90 mls past the spark mark. This may save me a lot of dismantling.  Thanks Rudy
