James Leffel Restoration
« on: 27 May, 2012, 06:31:43 pm »
Well the restoration begins
I started the strip down
getting the Boiler Sand blasted in the next few days
Then going to pull the chassis apart and blasted and painted
I am still looking for a Pneumatic Riveting Hammer to replace some rivets

Boiler work first as the rest is Good

woody,

Yes - at Edmonton. Alas, no steamers - a couple of old cars though. Which sugar mill do you work at? I spent some years at both Hambledon and Mulgrave.

The main Flue is the fire box so to speak. It has a grate along it to put the fire

I pulled all the wagon apart today
The wheels and axles are in perfect condition
Off to be blasted and primed
I was going to paint the chassis black and the wheels Red
What do you all think

i reckon its a good start.... im just jealous you have such a wonderful boiler/engine!
i like that design, and i may replicate it.....
did it come with guages and valves?
what colour are you painting the shell?
and what is that magnificent truck doing in the background?
is it stored at the museum?

These photos are from where i bought it
The truck is long gone
The boiler will be black with some red on the wagon and engine
So are you able to post the Air Rivetter down as a COD for Post?
