A4-5 International Sickel Bar Mower
« on: 05 April, 2014, 06:50:27 pm »
Gents have just picked up a sharpening jig for the above, wondering if anyone knows where one might obtain replacement carborundum stones, double tapered. I can post photos if any interest

Cheers

If you can still buy a similar size stone in width and OD it should be able to be shaped using a diamond tip.

Gents, anyone know of a source of parts for these mowers in Australia? I have had no luck looking on the net. I do have a source located in Nebraska, but feel there should be a local source as these mowers would have been quite common up until the 1970's.

Some parts for sickle mowers can be bought at a local tractor parts store but not much. What parts are you after and then people can look out for them or may have them in the shed. I bought some of the tynes/fingers at a rally to suit my Oxford Allen and saw other parts that I didn't identify so that is another place to look out for them.

Hello all.
As Cobba has said....what parts?
If it's guards or sections your after, take a sample down to your local AGCO dealer and let them look to see if something is suitable.

Can't really help unless we know what your after. We'd be only guessing.

Mate,
pitman arms, knife head, fingers. I can get all these from Sickle Service in Nebraska USA, prices not to bad, postage was ok. I just wanted to satisfy my self that there is no one here in Australia that stocks these parts as I would prefer to by local.

cheers
