1/2 scale repica of 1912 Big Chief
« on: 05 October, 2015, 01:32:26 pm »
Hi,
Here's some pics of a 1/2 scale 1912 Waterloo Big Chief that we've owned for a few years now. Its one of Reg Ingold's little gems. Not a 1/3 scale kit model, its been made from scratch to imitate a full scale example he had under a bench. So, its a one of a kind, with an ignitor, just like the original.
For those of you who don't know Reg, he had an accident which rendered his right arm useless. He set about rebuilding his workshop so that all the machinery would work for a one armed, left handed, man. He had been right handed. He's a very inspirational Champion in the Vintage machinery movement.
The pics show the engine he modeled it from, the finished product and a few pics of the process along the way.
Cheers,
Rob
