« on: 21 July, 2016, 07:03:42 pm »
Hi all
I recently got a small 2 stroke air cooled engine made by W Mills on Nth Coburg
Does anyone have any info on this engine or its use or the manufacturer ?
Cheers

Sounds interesting Frizzy. Are you able to post a pic of it?

Ian, I would think the anonymous poster made a typo or read the name upside down! It would, I assume, be a Wills, made in the 50s - 60s era. I do not have W Wills recorded, rather Wills Engineering, Leslie Ave, North Coburg, Vic.

I discovered these engines just after the firm closed down in 1982. Unfortunately no records or literature was kept. I was told that most of their production went to Pope for their cylinder mowers.

The Wills was a copy of an Italian designed engine made under licence  by Trojan. Those little Trojans were quite common in Australia, driving lawnmowers and other small-power devices.

Hi all
yes , it is a typo ( not my eyes honestly ) . the engine is a Wills.
Should read made by W Wills. Nth Coburg.   Type M1      # 3460
I tried posting a photo but the file is too large. I will see if I can reduce it some how.

With a head like that I think it is a Trojan engine.
