6 " Flat Belt Green Jacket Circulation Pump
« on: 24 June, 2018, 09:24:18 pm »
Hi , Guys , I have joined TOMM to seek advise and other and share detail and information .
I was provided a Flat Belt , Green Jacket Water Circulation Pump . 1' 1/4 inlet , 1' 1/4 outlet .
The Pump has No  ' ID ' as in Stamping . It has a Brass Centrifuge , Held in place by 2 screws , which at present only has 1 which I will install the additional screw. Visual inspection shows thread opposing for an additional screw to keep it flat and central . There is a Clamp which enables the positioning of the Centrifuge Jacket to be locked in place , depending on the desired position of the Outlet within a 360 ' turn .
It looks quite  similar to a Stover ODX , DX water cooling circulation pump .
I understand that Stover manufactured their own Pumps , although I am in the opinion that Cooper / Stover rebadge supplied their own manufactured pumps  , for the ODX , DX type Machines Horizontal Hit / Miss on Bettendorf Transport or Truck , horse drawn , with Cooling Tank .
Information in relation to this Pump , much appreciated .

I have used the Term '' Green Jacket '' as searching Ebay , shows a ' Red Jacket Pump '  ''' almost ''' identical to the Pump in question made in America . Maybe for Fair Banks and Morse , who knows ?!!.
Is it possible or highly likely that Cooper manufactured their own Circulation Pumps for specific duties and possible for their Rebadge Machines . I don't seem to think it is a IBC . The time period too early , for IBC .
Is it a Cooper Bessemer . ?  [Cooper Bessemer Engineering ] '' CBE '' .

If ' one' desired a 'V' belt pulley [ sheave ] ' could be installed at the very end of the shaft , if room is critical .

Apart from the pulley set up there is a big difference between the 'red' pumps and yours. That is yours has an end plate or cap where the water inlet is and the other 2 are a single cast and the body rotates with the end plate.

Hi EMU,
It is different to a F-M.  I'd say it's original.
Have you been in contact with Joe Maurer with the stover engine registry?  He may be able to help.
He can also give you the original shipping details.

Cheers,
Tim

hi,
looking closely at the photo of a good looking resto, the transport looks identical (tho not as rust damaged) as the 7hp Alamo I am slowly working on.  is it the original transport?    can send pic of mine via phone if interested  not clever enough to get pic from phone to computer 0428136158

Confirmation ,
Stover made several circulation pumps for their Engine applications , this is one of them .
