Ferguson positioner device
« on: 20 November, 2018, 09:47:10 am »
Hi all.
I have been doing research on the web for my TEA 20 and in my Google travels found a device called a ferguson positioner.  I cant find any information about this aside from the sites that i found them on. Ones aussie and there is a version made in usa. Does anyone out there have experience with this device and is it worth investing in one for my tractor? .
Regards

John,
It's an Australian invention to convert the Grey Fergy hydraulic control to similar to the Draft control introduced on the FE35, with the difference being this one is fitted externally on the existing hydraulic quadrant. It allows more precise control over the lift. Just Google Ferguson Positioner and it comes up. Steve.
If it's old, treat it like gold.

I did a Google search and came up with 2 options, one being the one listed earlier and are still available and around $120.00 posted. The other was a home made design and quite doable. I copied the plan and will have a go at it next year.
Tried to post it but file is too large for the Forum and my winzip is not working for some add reason.

I've been working on fabricating a position control for our TEA20. It is patterned off the position controller freely available off the internet and appears that it will fit up fine. The friction pad is a 3" circle of 6mm insertion rubber between the cam arm and the mounting block.

Will do, Cobbadog. Won't be until mid-late February that we pick up the Fergie though. Thought I would make this up in the meantime with bits from the off-cut pile  :)
