« on: 06 June, 2022, 09:26:04 am »
Hi a friend has rebuilt a RS1 ans put in new insulators and bearings .there is no continuity between the bearings and the casing. When he puts in the armature he gets a dead short to the casing. Any ideas why please.  Rudy

Isn't there suppose to be small insulating washers in there somewhere. Have a look in the manual to see what it says.

Is that with all other components still off ? (no brushes in, anywhere) I personally am struggling to understand how a similar American Bosch could possibly work, and yet it does. (after a rewind it might give more than 20 thou spark, though!) Discovering the bearing cups are insulated was a revelation.
