Hi Eric. I did a dig back through my files and the display board for this engine said 'Aveling Barford, Grantham manufactured by W.H. Dorman & Co. Stafford'. I did not get a pic of the name plate so I cannot verify what was on the engine. Maybe this one could go under A & D.

Thanks, Patrick. The owner of the engine was obviously aware of who made it.

Engine owners don't always get everything right with their information. I recall reading of a Jelbart engine made by JL Bart. Where that idea came from is anyones guess.

I have added another Australian A, the Australight, made in Melbourne.
